Great news!

Popped in to see Tony at Select Marine today and it's fixed!

Barrus have supplied a new compressor under warranty as a good will gesture.

The injectors have been back flushed, all the air hoses cleaned out and new oil filters fitted.

Tony did a sterling job of getting it all back together, I can't recommend Select Marine highly enough!

All I paid for was the labour - Bargain!

Thanks for all your comments and advice.

It looks like i'll get to see this season out after all!

Nick

Great you had it all sorted out. Nice to see Barrus look after their customers - things like this DO help keep all us potential customers sweet!!!

It is rather worrying though this trend for compressor failiures.

Question:

What is it that is compressed with this compressor? I am assuming air ? is it acting as a supercharger ?

No it's atomizing the fuel/air mix for cleaner burn.

it's always best to buy into the end run of a technology than the start of a new one!!!

In my business, we buy quite a lot of jap stuff, with the great advantage that its been on the market over there for a good while before we get them, so a lot of the 'customer' R&D is already done before they hit our shores
