The point I was making is that when something is coming to the end of production all the gremlins have been ironed out - with a brand new product it's often the customers who are the guinea pigs!!!
What your mate probably didn't explain was that the bits left over were the ones "saved" by the workers and the last cars off the line were going towards the leaving party!!!
