Best price for 2-stroke oil?

2.55 per litre for quantities of 48 litres (Sorry Batfalcon that's UK delivery).

That's in half litre cans...

Can anyone find a better deal?

I was told that Penzoil is same oil as Quick Silver. Does any one know if this is correct. Penzoil costs about Euro 1.00/ltr. I ooked and found out that Shell (As cod also says) makes Penzoil so does this mean that Shell Marine is the same as the Penzoil brand and (if they make Quicksilver same as this one too?)?

Quick Silver is too expenssive to try and run a business by using it. Can any one advise if I can use it with my Yams 115s 2-strokes?

Is this direct injection oil by any chance (as you have a HPDI!). What brand, type, from where? Thanks

You certainly caused some talk with that info. Of course it's THE price by far ... so far.

Manos, I 've learned it the hard way that "All people are equal, but some are more "equal" than others".

The issue still stands. We all pay MUCH MORE THAN WE GET.

CODPRAWN, Thanks for the provided info and links. As you previously said only Penzoil produces oil among all the listed brands. Considering Manos info, I think that it worth searching for.

Many of us pay these stuff for recreation only, but some are professionals and run businesses.
Come on guys, you've got more interest than the rest of us.

Oils

So the next question is whether a general hypoid oil can be used in place of the increasingly expensive 'manufacturers' gear case lube (outboard). And does it really need to be replaced every year?

Probably, but how are you going to get it in there ? the Quicksilver oil comes in a tube with a nozel that you inject in the lower hole to expel any air bubbles, castrol comes in bottles with a tube. Yes you could probably find a solution but since you only need 3 a year its probably not worth the effort. You need at least 3 by the way cos it going to go all over your garden path as you change from one tube to the next.

Yes. Its the only way you will know if the oil seals are starting to leak or the bearings/gears are wearing by looking at what comes out.

given the cost of a second hand gearbox its probably worth sticking witht he manufacturers oil.

Oakleys in Brighton had a deal on discontinued Suzuki oil in 0.5l bottles for that sort of price a couple of months ago.
