The hull has no water in it
Based on that I agree probably not prop or "lard" issures.

Cheap & easy test - change the plugs. If it makes s*d all difference, start deep diving the rest of the engine.

(while you are there, if yours is a merc based one, have a check of the spark plug leads - one of mine the connector had fatigued off the end of the wire & was only held connecting by the rubber seal - of the other 2, one wasn't too far behind it.

Also if the stator is not red (the new colour of the updated version) it could be on its way out. Known issue on these engines, it will most likley have been changed by now I would have thought. Tends to just stop working though but maybe it could be causing your fault.

Mine is a 1998 non clamshell and it was a problem on it! Engine had less than 20 hours on it when I bought it last year and got 2 runs out of it before the staor went and cost me over 300 to fix as the magnets fell off the fly wheel as well. No second hand ones around at that time so had to go new, seen a few used ones for sale for 50 since - boo hoo!

Right, I've changed the plugs and it hasn't made a difference. I guess my next step will be the propeller, there is a place in North Wales that repair and can also change the pitch.

If spark ok I would be seriously looking at putting a prop of around 15 or 17inch pitch to obtain the 5500+ revs? You should get around 35kts with that!

I was advised to try a spark tester on my engine before buying it to see if the stator was weak

Laser HT Lead Ignition Spark Testers Pack of 4 | Screwfix.com

that and a compression test.
