1995 15hp Evinrude

Looking at buying this Evinrude for a brig b350 sib. I have heard that they had a bad run of there engines in the 90,s. True or not I don't know know. Just wondering if anyone else heard any thing like this.

That's a long shaft, are you sure it's a long shaft you need?

Most SIB's of around that size require short shafts.

you are right

I need a short shaft but am looking at going up in size next year 420 and I think this will get me through this season. I can get it at a better prise and it might work on the next sib.

Depending on the manufacturer, some sibs/ribs uses short tail engines, better ask the 420 seller/dealer which type of engine is transom recommended before purchasing it.

Happy Boating

...or check out the Brig website which states that this model requires a short shaft

I wouldn't recommend putting a L/S engine on the back if the manufacture advises S/S - the angle and postion of propulsion will be incorrect and could seriously impact the performance of the craft and possibly the safety of the people on board.

Besides which if you move up to a 4.2m it will feel comparatively sluggish with a 15hp, especially when loaded. Unless it's for river/lake use you'd be better off with a 25-30hp for a 4.2m
