I'll take the blame for that. Is was meant to be light hearted. Just setting a wee seed to see the reaction.

Yes, I handed out one point and I did have a little pang of conscience. But it was just replacing one which had been removed on a thread which was completely light hearted in nature, upon which no judgement should have been made, so I managed to overcome my feelings of guilt.

Tim may want to ponder on why he hasn't much reputation left.

Not guilty sir.

OUCH now RW will wipe me out of his buddy list as last year we fitted couple of such camera systems into Icelandic Police vehicles and we are due to double the instalations this year (good business for us). RB yes this is my personal email, also have bogi@radioraf.is and bogi@delta.is which are my business emails (radioraf is the one doing instalations for the Icelandic Police and delta is the pharmaceutical business).

Bogi, I don't have a problem with speed cameras.... except that when they are installed, there should be plenty of signs saying what the speed limit is. OK it's a good idea to concentrate on driving, but realistically, nobody clears their mind of everything else once in the car!

And in the UK we have a stupid speed limit called "diagonal stripe on white circle" which I can't find anywhere on my speedo.

OK, I'm being facetious here, but I'm certain loads of people have no idea what this means!

Richard have read your mail sorry for not seeing it earlier have sent a pm explaining. I appreciate this and I and Ingi Björn (Little Bear) we look forward to RIBex although Steinunn is not as keen to (she is not into boating or ferrying at all).
I have no problem with speeding only been stopped twice once over here and once in Chicago although not looking carefully at the speedo, seems always been going higher (faster) than feeling the speed of the car which is more realistic measurement to me.

No probs, Bogi.

I'm sure that once Steinunn has arrived at Cowes she will have a good time. It's a good place for you workaholic types to relax, on land or on water.

I agree, if I remember right there are number of souvenier shops over there which will keep Steinunn busy for a while.

To get the thread back on track, I think that the credibilty system has inevitably suffered from human nature manifesting itself in it's various forms.

I see that somebody has recently voted me a green pip (bless you) but does that now mean that I have more credibility than Alan Priddy !!

Paul Glatzel apparently only warrants one green blob. Does that mean that his experience and seamanship is inferior to the 2 green blob brigade.

I would be in favour of new members being welcomed with the health warning "Beware, some people talk bollox". Even casual observers can tell when somebody has posted a wrong 'un by the torrent of abuse and vitriol that cascades their way.

Scrap the system. It's not healthy in it's current form.

The cream will rise...

Don't think it's a measure of someone's brilliance (and I say that with great trepidation)...some lurkers out there will know loads more than anyone ...(our BM engine guru ain't figgering yet either...)
But it's based on what people think of actual posts...

So very experienced/ knowledgeable people would come through over time...and via their high-quality contributions / sharing....

MISSUS
