There is a weird following of black dry suits which you will see referred to as the black shadow. There is a spoof comedy? Society against the black shadow... You really had to be there...

Black shadow wearers tend to be inferior boy racers ... drinking .. yob culture hooligan types if you will .. some of us have better taste .. better boats.. and generally refuse to accept that wearing a black shadow dry suit makes you superior when in actual fact the reverse is true ........all in the best possible taste ofcourse

What I choose to wear in my leisure time is between "me and the wall". When on Official Duty in Redbays, a Fladen has been sufficient to keep body and soul together. For days when I know I'm going to be IN the water, I have a nice crushed neoprene drysuit that JUST HAPPENS to be black. I think I might spring for a nice yellow Musto for days that I find myself at sea on lesser craft
