Revision to the General posting guidelines

After much consideration and having reviewed a number of lengthy threads about the future direction of RIBnet I have made some amendments to the General posting guidelines. There have been a few minor changes to wording and emphasis on the guidelines, but the major change is the addition of a new section as follows:

Quote:
No whining
Inspired by the no-nonsense approach of the team of rule makers at 24 hours of LeMons we are invoking a version of their rule 2.4 on Whiner Eligibility and any posts deemed to be whining will be removed without notice. Serial offenders will have their posting rights revoked. If you believe that you might be a whiner, please check with a domestic partner, guardian, or health-care professional before posting.
I am aware that opinions may be divided by this rule and quite possibly its implementation, but on balance I expect it to have no direct impact on the majority of people and will ultimately make RIBnet a better place.

Thanks for your understanding.

Hi,

Are you sure that your new rule doesn't fall foul of the "European cenvention on human rights"? I see a court case coming

Yes. I've checked with the corporate lawyers and we're absolutely fine. In fact they are of the opinion that the mere suggestion that any of the rules here infringe human rights in any way would be prima facie evidence of whining.

Thanks for the concern though.
