willk's right. Next planned move is to IPBoard if I can work out a migration strategy that doesn't involve any of you lot having a coronary

As Polwart says, multiple posting is a feature that I have chosen not to use on RIBnet. It's an extra bit of clutter and complication that would only be useful in a relatively small proportion of posts, and would lead to people quoting even more unnecessary stuff. At least people who can manage to use one of the various workarounds to multiple quote, can also generally manage to trim the irrelevant bits!

You'd THINK that, but I positively thrive on Irrelevance..

mmmn yes .. my myocardial infarction has been and gone.. but I feel better for it .... thankfully my board is only in its infancy though. But even so a migration from phpBB3 was still a pig

Some of the developers that left VB are doing there own thang with Xenforo I believe, and lots are waiting for that instead of going to IPB which has really only come to the fore due to the stagnation of VB IMHO, but Internet Brands who bought VB have picked up the baton now since they've realised the extent of the problem and are working hard to reinstate their dominance .. dunno where it will go but .. what ever you do it will be a big change. That said I liked a couple of IPB's I used to use, and it definately gets a thumbs up from me

What I prefer with VB is the cross platform support thats up and coming which can be integrated with other content on web sites, plus linking to other platforms such as facebook etc .. dont know where IPB is with that ?
