Paypal problems

I have tried to find best e mail to send this message but could not find it easily.

I have just renewed my RIBNET membership (£20) as a supporter on 19th Feb. I have just received my bank account statement and RIBNET have taken so far 2 x Ribnet subscriptions and 2 x Marine Social knowledge subscriptions which is the same company.

So to date I can see you have taken £80 from my paypal acount which I have checked. Three have been completed and one is still active.

Can you resolve this issue as a matter of urgency and I suggest all members paying check their payments.

I also now note despite paying these subscriptions my membership has changed from supporter to a member and my mailbox is full so I cannot e mail/pm anyone unless I scrap/delete messages I had saved of contacts. NOT a good example of customer care

Thank you. I have managed to suspend one payment and have lodged the unauthorised payments with paypal. I cannot receive pm's as I am now no longer a supporter and I wish to keep my pm,s and links, so e mail is the only way presently or on the forum

Sorry for the problem, I'm not sure why that happened. When recurring subscriptions are set up we don't actually take any payments as they are processed automatically by Paypal. There have been a few occasions when subscriptions have been duplicated by mistake, but I've not seen anything on this scale before!

I've refunded the two payments that went to the old RIBnet Paypal account. We will always refund any duplicate payments - if anyone else has a problem just use the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page which will open a ticket on the help desk.

They have their moments. Generally they provide us with a good service though, and on-line commerce would be much harder without them.

Well I've just had an email saying my automatic subscription renewal has just been cancelled. So either they are working on preventing the problem from effecting others or they be trying to tell me something

I think PayPal refund them as part of any refunds you get anyway and it does not cost to withdraw ?

There shouldn't be any fees as far as I know, but let me know if you get a problem and we'll sort it out.

I've checked through the old RIBnet Paypal account and made sure that there are no more active subscriptions. Any future RIBnet subscription payments should show as Social Knowledge.

If anyone isn't sure whether they have a recurring payment set up you can check in your Paypal account.

John that still does not explain why Social Knowledge took two subscriptions as did Ribnet

John/Admin

Have you considered a Google Checkout option?, I believe they are cheaper and easier to manage too.
