People seem to have done an OK job introducing themselves over the years without needing a special section to do it, but it would be easy enough to add.
Just more unnecesary clutter, or something useful? Discuss . . .

I think it's a good idea. There's quite a lot of people register and never post (not even spam ). Maybe it'd stimulate them.

People generally join forums (and post) when they have something to say - and it's usually not just "Hi, my name is gArf and I have a small willy", but to get involved in an event, ask a question, sell something etc.
So FWIW I don't think a sticky adds any value.

That's not what you said to gArfie. What's he got that I haven't?

Well I think it would be good, because people can tell us a bit about them selves and what they do. Often I see peeps posting in a thread when its their first post, and they always feel they have to say that this is their first post, first. I think a meet and greet area is good, where, folks get to say hello and be welcomed by forum members, it would give a more positive welcome to them and their posts, and lets others know something about the poster too. I think sometimes this is good, because it helps a replying poster omit things that are needless and unneccessary, when they know some of the background of the thread starter for example, or in a reply that they may wish to make.
