There have been a couple of quite extensive experiments with forms of RIBnet live chat and they have failed dismally due to almost complete lack of interest. I'm not saying never, but it's unlikely to be added anytime soon.
I do have plans for an addition to the site which I think will be really useful though. More details in a week or two when I've done some more testing.
