Crewing threads section ?

Just wondering if there is anywhere on here to post of you are going out ( even for a quick jolly) & are willing to offer a seat/ ride to fellow ribneters ? If not is it possibly something tha coudl be added (like the bilges that auto removes after a week of no activity) ?

Any thoughts good or bad ? Does it exist already ( outside of cruises threads) ?

I only say that as I rey & tempt my kids/ wife sometime & they dont want to know. I (sometimes) feel a bit guilty out on a boat that can carry 4-5 easiily when I'm on my own.

Great Idea - The whole boating experience!

I am putting boat on blocks tomorrow to powerwash / wax. Forecast is sunny but probably around zero degrees for the day.

Seriously, this is a good idea and I would welcome people to come out for a days fishing etc at short notice if regular crew are unavailable.

So would I-wouldn't use it often, but it'd be very appreciated when I did.

Whats wrong with just putting them in the cruising section? Perhaps with a standardised subject line something like:

CREW WANTED: Sun 9th Jan 2009 - Portsmouth

Auto deletion would only really be an advantage for JK not the forum user... inevitably people will then start to ask things about arrangements, slipways, pubs etc - which will be of use to others in the future using the search tool.

I think it's a terriffic Idea to have a seperate Crew wanted/offered section it could be attached to the cruising thread by means of a sticky.

For some reason people seem to find it very hard to manage standardised subject formats. I manually edit almost every thread title in the "RIBs for sale" and "RIBs reported stolen" sections. I've given up in the "Upcoming RIB cruises" section.

I don't think that a single sticky thread would really work. How about a sub-forum in the cruises section?
