Student Powerboat Instructor Course

University of Portsmouth Sailing Club are running a Student RYA Powerboat Instructor course on the May Bank Holiday weekend - 27t, 28th & 29th May.

We have kept the cost down as much as possible for poor students, and it will be £175 a head for the 3 days.

The course will be run by two RYA Trainers, under constant moderation/assessment, leading (hopefully) to the RYA Powerboat Instructor Award.

The course pre requisites include an in date HSE recognised First Aid Certificate, 5 years intermittent or 1 year full time (i.e. as an integral part of your work) of powerboating experience since qualifying as a level 2. This powerboating experience should be in a range of boats. You must hold the National Powerboat Certificate (level 2). For this course, you also need to be a full time Student.

The course will be run from a base on the River Itchen, using a variety of ribs. Hopefully we will have 2 stroke, 4 stroke, and diesel engines to look at, but the boats are subject to change!

This rate is for students only, as it represents a significant saving on usual costs! There will be a certain amount of pre course planning to be completed.

If interested, please let me know and I will send out more information as soon as possible, to aid me in this if you are interested in attending please e-mail james@daviescoaching.co.uk or put a post up on this forum.

All bookings must have been made by the 30th April.

Any queries please get in touch.

They're a special brand of footwear, custom moulded, with tubes around the outside edge for fendering, and turning stability (helpful if you go jogging offroad). They're designed to complement your powerboat, in a range of colours and styles, with optional re-inforced laces.

I have sent you an email about the PBI course and was wondering what the reply was? At Portsmouth uni and want to do the course for my coursework. Can I join in the fun?
