Seawork - worth attending, MAIB session

Just noticed on the Seawork listing for this year : on the Tuesday session :

Conference Room 3:
12:30 to13:00 MAIB Investigation into: The Catastrophic Hull Failure of a 9.1 metre RIB with 12 Passengers and 2 Crew Onboard
Wim Hart, Marine Accident Investigation Branch
The MAIB will deliver a 25 minute presentation of the results of their investigation into the catastrophic hull failure of a 9.1 metre RIB. The RIB was on a "thrill Ride" and there were 12 fee paying passengers and 2 crew onboard at the time of the accident.
The investigation revealed shortcomings in the boatbuilder's RCD compliance procedures, especially those relating to hull strength and supporting documentation. There was also misunderstanding of the MCA's "Code Compliance" requirements for commercial endorsement and of the operating company's responsibilities.

Could be interesting....
