RYA School Insurance

Insurance is up for renewal and I am getting some silly quotes, one company even quoted a price that was 20% of annual turnover.

Any ideas greatly received
I need RIB insured
Public Liability
Employers Liability

We use Bill Southgate at Bishop Skinner. We pay about 1100 for the boats (4 of) and 900 for the school. Includes all RYA stuff & charter

You might also track down Heath Lambert as they are dead keen to take on RYA school business & visited a few schools (us included) to get a feel for how RYA schools run - Jane will have the number

That's a good price Paul.
I pay £500.00 for the RIB and about £1750 for the school.
Just had a quote from Heath Lambert and it was more than Colin Curtis.

Very much the same sort of price structures as you are all coming up with, about £2K but mine is to include PW, RIB, PUBLIC & EMPLOYERS LIABILITY, COMMERCIAL USE, CHARTER USE, TOWING & TRANSPORTATION + ALL THE RELEVANT RYA STUFF.........

Thanks for all of your advice, it seems I have spoken to more insureres this last month than the rest of my life.

Heath Lambert turned out to be the best by far, apart from a reasonable price it took four working days from initial enquiry to poicy in place. They cover everything for powerboating, motor cruising, sail cruising, shorebased (Sea Survival) and the RIB with public and employers liability and office/classroom contents

Very impressed with the service, wish I had gone straight to them
