Red Coding

Hi all.
I know that there has been a lot on coding before, i have read most of it! But has anyone been down the basic Red Coding route?

As i see it, i can red, cat 6 my rib based in Lymington and not need a liferaft as i will only be in the solent and never more than a mile away from Land. I would have certain points around the Solent as my NDP's.

I am a YM (Sail) Comm and a PBI.

I am sure there is more and i am reading the Red book as to what else is needed, but any help or advise would be very helpful.
