Radio and Engine questions

Hi

My first time on this site so sorry if these questions have been asked before.

We are trying to get the MCA 4 code on our Rib our current radio does not have DSC is this a requirement?
I have heard that we need a 30 hour outboard engine qualification for the coding. Is this the case? or as I am a qualified motor engineer will this not be required?

Thanks for any help:

DSC: Is not required now but becomes so early next year.
Engine quals: Old code was a bit strange (as per your post required 30 hours course) revised draft code as per attached image.

Hope this helps - suggest obtain copy of revised draft code from the MCA website to confirm yourself.

Paul,

Any chance you could post the link - I can't seem to find it on the website.

Cheers,
