Ian and all

I don't really know anything about this Association other than what is on their website, so have a few questions.

They have a MLA logo on nearly every page of their website, are they a MLA member?

They have a RYA logo on most pages of their website, are they a RYA affiliated Club or part of the RYA or accredited by the RYA in any way?

They also show the BMF logo throughout their website, same question, are they a BMF member or a BMF association?

I am not saying they aren't but I have never heard of their involvement with the BMF, RYA or MLA.

Hi Doug, not wishing to undo the good already done I will ask the association chair to contact you direct , I am aware they have been at recent RYA, MCA meetings covering the reviews on MGN280.

Doug, I have been asked to respond in my capacity as Vice Chair RIBS, as the Chairman is laid up in bed and apologises for not calling in person.

Thank you, yes you were correct in your observations, the PCA are not members in their own right but through their association as part of YBDSA plus having a working relationship with these organisations.

The PCA members are mainly all active charter operators who are themselves members in their own right of the organisations you have identified.

The PCA website has now been changed to reflect this as “useful links for more information on the marine industry contact the organisations below”.

It was not the PCA’s intention to misrepresent their status with these groups; we thank you again for identifying this shortcoming and would welcome you as a future member.

Merry Christmas to you too buddy and a prosperous new year!

I hope Santa didn't put you on his naughty list for that terrible case of logo abuse
