out of work

What is it with some commercial boat operators? they line you up for a skippering job over a month in advance then less than 24hrs before the job is due to start they cancel. this has happened twice in the last couple of weeks.
Do any of you commercial skippers work under your own contract to stop companies taking the piss

It's a bummer but it happens. Was it survey work, did you get weathered off>

You can write a contract and ask your prospective employer to sign it but chances are they won't and will go get somebody on day rate that needs the work more than you do

Are you n Nautilus or te RMT if so have they got a legal department that might have a standarsd contract.
