We use this as most bookings are advanced sales so done on banker transfer on invoice . Don't do enough face to face to justify monthly fees

In 2012 all my trips were cash only, as we operate a hardboat all out trips are under 20, 1 person only this year asked to pay by card.
With trips say at 36 each and a family wanting to pay the chance of having that kind of cash to hand is slim.
I'm looking into online booking as I feel that is the answer, save me time with bookings, taking card payments and probably phone calls and if they still want to pay cash on the day then fine.

Thanks for all the feedback.
I too felt uncomfortable about the iPhone plug-in device, but then I though I might just be "old fashioned".
To be honest 40% of trade is on-line bookings and the rest seem happy to pay cash (even large amounts) as we have a cash point 25m away. We are looking into the WorldPay terminal, but the monthly payments do make it less attractive.
I am surprised that it takes 14 days, as all the info put out be Izettle states 4 days!
Thanks as always for the feedback.

Ruari, Paypal Virtual Terminal can only be used for cardholder not present transactions (i.e. telesales) - not for processing payments with a card.

For those of you with web booking facilities - would it actually be easier / cheaper to have a touchscreen (e.g. tablet) mounted at your booking office that is "locked" to your website and lets the user buy an immediate ride themselves? Might be some technical rules about using webstuff for cardholder present sales... but you could even let them generate a voucher or code to hand over.

We use virtual terminal at exhibitions for customer present transcations.

Had to jump through some extra hurdles and they ring fence the money for 30 days.
