What do other freelance skippers and crew want for a day work currently?
I be a bit more discriptive for different types of work and vessels.

Also what do employers think Skippers are worth?

Small rib say doing safety cover

Large rib heavy commercial work (wind farm or similar)

Hard boat up to 12 metres
Hard boat up to 24 metres

Heavy commercial work in off shore industry

Hello Buddy

I won't work for less than £250 + allowances offshore and that's all I really want to do nowadays.

FRC contracts off shore on the ERRV's generally start at £18k and go to £25k month on month off travel paid. I 'm not sure what the ARRC Commanders get but I think you might know one called Joe Ellis from your Griffin days

Inshore/Windfarm is usually about £150 a day + allowances (that's kinda good if you like a beer cos you get back onshore every night. but you wind up living on a boat in some bleak places. (i.e. Mostyn) so you need an escape module with you.

I don't do safety cover or local work anymore but I guess you get what you get until somebody undercuts you but I think it averages around 80 - 120

Are you in the RMT or Numast sorry Nautilus

My general feeling about employers is the more they pay the better you are treated but it depends if they perceive the coxswain as a necessary evil or an asset

I work on coded workboats/merchant ships etc and am looking to get some extra work on my leave periods, on a 28 on/off rota.

I only have a PB 2 endorsed at the mo but will have my Yachtmaster and master 220t soon and a MN OOW at the end of the year.

The thing is how do you find out about work? in the MN agencies and companies contact you direct ? what about in this side of work?

I would happly sit in a RIB doing safety cover for 100 a day no problem! I also have indate ERRV cox'n ticket and ITSO

wages vary from 100-400 a day it really depends on what your doing ,who your working for, who you know, and the main one how good you are, only thing is id say most of the jobs tend to be last minute and they never start on time and always finish late, rouge wave am sure will agree,
