Commercial Passenger RIB collision Firth of Forth

There are local reports of the 2 commercial passenger RIB's that work out of Anstruther having collided with one another on Tuesday this week.

The boats were reported to be playing in the wash of a local passenger ferry when they came together resulting in at least one passenger being admitted to hospital in a serious condition.

MAIB are investigating.

Not good.

I imagine being part of an MAIB investigation as being not much fun at all.

That does not sound good, Does anyone know if this this the same company that had to go through a court case a while ago for injuring a passenger on a Rib out of Anstruther?

I don't know anything about the new incident, but as I understand it Calypso (who were involved in the old one) only provide commercial services not "passenger" services. There are a couple of firms operating "tour" type boats from Anstruther and assume it was one of these from the OP's account.

Call me old fashioned but I suspect its probably not much fun for the seriously injured customer either.

I would hope the investigation is thorough and not much fun and that the other commercial operators learn from these errors.

The MAIB site names the boats as Osprey and Osprey II which are run by Isle of May boat trips (Boat Trips, near St Andews, Dundee Á Edinburgh)
