Got that thanks.

Looking for non-fishing commercial jobs.

To resurrect this old thread, where do you find commercial work? I spent this year working as a sort of freelance deckhand by basically writing to every workboat operator I could get details for. Now that I've passed my Yachtmaster I'd like to build experience through continuing to work in the industry but I can’t seem to find the opportunities. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thank you.

Hi there, agencies are a good start.
Try ones like;
Seamariner
Clyde marine recruitment
Viking recruitment

These sites are mainly merchant navy recruitment but workboats such as small ferries, wind farm boats etc do advertise with them.

good for you.....thats how I started doing this for a living grafting on a tug you soon build up a contact base, If you were any good on a deck as you start driving boats your going to be amazed at some of the deckwork on display.

Thanks for the replies, some helpful stuff here. CP Marine UK Ltd. (C P Marine UK Ltd) is another agengy that was passed on to me. Again it's mainly big ship stuff but they quite often have workboat jobs. Worth keeping an eye on.
