Business Plan

Hi Guys
Im putting together a business plan and im looking for ball park figures on various items. I know that if I went direct to insurers they would give me actual quotes but as this is a "Virtual Plan" at the moment I dont need specifics.

This is based on a single skipper/instructor (me) operating a 5.5m RIB with a 80HP engine, working approx 15 weekends a year
What yearly costs would you put on the following
- Insurance / TP liability
- Coding (Cat4)
- Engine Servicing
- Maintenance
- Liferaft Hire (4 man)
- Misc expenses

Any other areas Ive missed?

Thanks in advance.
Pete

what' the carrying capacity of you rib,

Does misc cover mooring/marina fees or would that be exclusive to the charter price

insurance I would think around 400 quid maybe less another 600 quid for coding requirements

coding would be about 350 for the surveyor for a five year ticket with a 2.5 year review probably anothe 150 or so

servicing is dependant on hours used but factor in about 1.50 per hour of use

maintenance 300 quid should cover cleaning replacing the rule bilge pump three times etc. Electronics are extra and if you are lucky won't break down

Liferaft hire dunno have always bought my own. try messenger marine they be down you way.

Misc expenses It's a boat think of a number and quadruble it

have you missed marketing costs or is that pre sorted

Thanks for that, The (virtual) boats is to be coded for 4 (one instructor & 3 students)
I thought that the insurance would be a lot higher.

Same could apply for marketing expenses - depends how many people you want to reach and how quickly. Very least would be a stack of business cards to hand out. Cheap enough with some of the online places - VistaPrint even do some free if you have their details on the back.

geberally that's an extra expense to the charter pary, and is in fact a nice little earner for the boat owner as theres a bit of a marging in it
