Brathay Trust are looking to host some fund-raising events using our 30\' Voyageur canoes with up to 32 participants.
We are looking to hire a third party to provide safety cover, could you give me some idea’s and costs?
Provision of safety cover from a third party needs to include all offshore equipment needed, appropriately qualified and experienced advisers and staff/drivers, public liability insurance, risk assessments and ability to uplift all personnel from the event if necessary.(enough room in safety boat/s)
Possible ideas are
-the classic Dover-Calais channel crossing.
- St Bees, Cumbria to Ramsay, Isle of Man
-Portpatrick, Dumfriesshire to Belfast, Ireland
-Holyhead, Anglesey to Dublin, Ireland
I hope this is enough info for you to give us some idea of feasibility and costs of such an event.

Looks like hes contacting everybody, I got a mail from him yesterday,complete with a photo of the Canoe ! Spoke to him this morning and he wants the RIB company to project manage the event as well.

Yeah I think we are not the only ones. Thats what some of them do I find, make you think you are the one and only, you do all the work to get it all organised and all the time they are dealing with someone else. Well games up eh??
