Round the Island Speed Record for a standard Production Rib

Client of mine was asking if there is any records of the fastest time for a standard production rib around the Isle of Wight.
Best place to ask is here.

Could it be done ??
and would it be based on HP only .
It would have to be around a pre determined course probably via waypoints so can read the boats track on the gps to ensure no deviation .
I will leave this one to the boy racers on here if it could be done with minimum rules but maximum safety could it be a possible Rib net event next year in aid of a chosen charity.

I believe that John Puddyfoot holds this record in his revenger rib set a couple of years ago, If im right

Ok everyone September copy of motorboat and yotting,article rib v sportsboat, Race,around the island between a Hydrolift s24 -7.35 meters and 310hp 6.2 litre v8 mercruiser versus Goldfish rib 7.60 meter and yanmar 315 hp 3.6 litre diesel.
Both good for over 60 knots .Apparently its a 55 mile circuit and the rib managed it in a tad over 57 min one minute ahead of the hydrolift .The record belongs to a James Sheppard and Chris Parsonage in a class 1 powerboat in a time of 30 mins I,m fairly sure that we haven,t all got access to a class 1 powerboat so the goal is sub 57 mins folks.Also if contacted MBY have said they will act as a official time keeper.

It just an Idea Leeway
Would be open to standard production ribs minimum qualification PB2 Driver and Navigator .

Waypoints put in so safety boats can be nearby minimum qualification for them PB2 and at least one member of the crew to have first aid training .

If the race was based on HP only ,would it work or what alternatives are there .
Idea being that a client of mine has a new Brig rib with a 150 Verado and was asking if there are any records for round the Island so I asked here.

I think it has potential for rib manufacturers or any one else to enter there boats with whatever lump on the back but it must be a standard production rib and outboard/inboard ,different classes would be based on engine size.

What does everyone think, would anyone volunteer for safety cover . It could have a charity tagged on ie Solent Safety Organisation for all the Independent Lifeboats that cover the Island and Solent ??
Does anyone want to organise/run it.
