I would think it was done for the peronal challenge and the enjoyment and sense of satisfaction having completed such a thing. As an aside it is nice to raise some cash aswell. Obviously if it was only done for the Charity side then I guess it would not make financial sense, but then again boating seldom does....

Going round Britain none stop is a great achievement, as any one who has done it in any sort of boat knows.. Well done.
