Round Britain 2008

Is anybody going to be taking pics/video on the Race? It will probably not be covered on TV in the US. Any ideas so that folks this side of the pond can see it.

There is a video being made by i believe Ian May from the 2 scoops team.

We have been given three 1030 Olympus cameras which we will be fixing to the boat and taking video and snap shots as we go round

Good luck with the race bandit! What's the latest news on your boat?

If there is any TV coverage in the UK it will not be long before it finds its way to youtube…

I am doing the leg from Bangor in Northern Ireland to Oban in Scotland with Gordon Compton, and hope to hop onto different boats as we make our way through the Caledonian canal, I will take as much video and as many photos as time and battery power allow!

I have written a preview in Sports Boat and Rib magazine which should be out today, and there will be a report on the race the magazine after next. The website is quite informative as well, and you will be able to follow the boats "live" via a tracking system.

I have cameras i use for Thundercats being positioned over the boat plus helmet cams all wirelessly running to a storage drive in the console then at the end of the day i will upload the streamed video via a Panasonic "Tuff" book army spec laptop, uploaded then at the end of the day onto riblife and the racing website being built. Also we are looking in getting a special peice of kit which will allow you to view live whats going on.

We have a very clever web programmer working at RIB International and i think he is using it as his time to shine.

I have my Iphone also that if i have a chance will take any photos i can and email them back to the office to be uploaded. Although I think this will be hard at over 60 knots.
