I'd love to do this, but there's quite a difference in performance between a 4.1m rib and a 6m rib, making category 2 somewhat weighted.

We have contacted the coastguard and VTS. Both authorities have requested that we keep them informed and then on the day contact them by VHF but neither have any objections. So yes we have the green light and it would be great if evrybody can support this event.

Its going to be a friendly and fun occasion and the main idea is to get everyone together that has an interest in ribs. We will hold a BBQ in the afternoon and then drinks in the evening for those who can stay on.

We welcome any questions or suggestions.

It's a great Idea, but I'll agree with Nos4r2. An 8m with twin 250's against a 6m with a 150. There's really no competition is there.

This will be a race but at the end of the day we want it to be a day that everyone enjoys. On the spot prizes will also be awarded. In 2011 we plan to increase the categories. The RYA have been alerted.

I'm sure the QHM would be welcome, but I don't think their rib would be that quick!
