Not going to bite Callum, whatever you're doing now in a boat some of us guys down south did over a decade ago, I'm not hearing nothing that I haven't heard a hundred times before, I'm still hear and still have a sense of humour, it seems you have as well

Yep same old girl. Chris's plan is to bring her back and let me and a team loose on her. He wants new decks and put back to race trim. This is her now in France. Mechanically she's ok. Fuel and range is my biggest problem

It will be possible to refuel any where you like on any leg so you don't have to fuel the boat for the longest leg in one unless you want to.

Yes it's the 200 range that I've got to plan the stops for. I'm starting work on a fuel centrifuge to recirculate the derv over night. My feeling is it won't be speed but reliability that will get you there

Extra redundant inline fuel filters are the way to go Saves changing filters at sea

Agreed. When I took the tanks out I welded in a takeoff on the bottom. Have taps. Balance and sight gauges on them. As it's flush to the bottom we can see any water in the sight gauge and drain it off

Our tanks are built into the boat so that we can maximise the spaces. Still got a lot of work to do before I can commit to the race - no budget and no support at the moment!

Good luck with that John, it would be scary to know how much you've invested already, I wonder how long our old girl can carry on at 48 years old I personally think she should retire, Chris on the other hand is like Peter Pan. We will have another look at this after the 50 year cowes Torquay event

..as it happens there's going to be quite a few ribs in the race:

1. Grey Ghost - Scorpion Rib
2. Hot Lemon - Scorpion Rib (Mike Deacon's old steed, now owned by Darren Mellish)
3. Tally-Ho - Scorpion Rib
4. Birretta Due - Fabio Buzzi Rib
5. PPG - Phil Payter's own build
6. Honda Construction Racing - Marcus Bradshaw's new build
7. Team Parker Ribs
...and possibly a return of that beautiful 'Argentum' rib that ran at Cowes a couple of years ago.

If anyone would like to add themselves, just get in touch - hello@ventureoffshorecup.com - as we've got an 'adventure class' running alongside the full racing classes

Team Parker ribs, is this you Andre, give me a shout and let me know, if it is and you're asking a diesel I might be able to offer shore support if you haven't already got it.
Don't see a team Redbay yet though, come on lads

Hi Biff

No not me only our Chris with a Polish team and the rib is a Parker 1000 Baltic with twin Verado 350

Will be good to see how a Parker 10 mtr will perform alongside a few Scorpion ribs and perhaps a Redbay
