measurements for racing

Hi
I am interested in racing a revenger 29 in RB12 etc. Under UIM rules she needs to be 8.23m for class D. Does the rubbing strake count in the measurement. Does anyone have the measurement rules or diagram? The revenger is actually 8.20 from the transom to the bow. It would be good to find 3cm from somewhere to get into class D so that we can use the existing engines. Any thoughts or help with this would be appreciated.

Also, anyone raced a revenger over a long distance with the standard revenger race seats? How do you feel at the end?

Any help or advice gratefully received.

Yes, you're more likely to get it there.

Word of warning: not all the members are very 'RIB-friendly'.

Thanks for your help. I'll see how they respond to the rib bit! Thanks for the warning.

Yeah, you'll struggle to disguise the fact that your Revenger is a RIB, when you start asking about tube overhang, etc.

Good luck

I have replied "over there" - if it's a single 225 you may want to consider twins or you'll need an auxiliary for racing. Of course a twin setup will increase the stress on your hull (and your pocket)!

I have attached a PDF of the latest rules on my computer where you will find which class your boat will fall into - Let me know if you need any help!

I believe that it does, but you would need to get official confirmation. As far as I know, the Marathon series now requires measurement certificates for all boats so at least you should get a definitive answer!

I've uploaded the measurement diagrams in a new thread which I have stickied.

Contact the RYA for details of your nearest measurer, how to get your first licence and what you will need to qualify to enter your first race.
