Getting into RIB racing

I have just stepped off of a racing RIB and experienced the best day ever. I have been driving powerboats for a number of years and I really want to try and get into RIB racing. So if anyone can give me any help / contacts / tips of how to take the "first step" it would be a great help.

Many thanks.

I'm Solent based but can drive and WILL travel

Would be great to see RIB racing getting going again in this country - so a lot depends on what type of racing you want to do? Certainly there are opportunities to race in basic events - but needs some more competitors and enthusiasm to keep Richard Strawford company racing at National level.

I have some options if of interest - around boats I have designed - including a new 7.7m race / leisure twin stepped hull RIB being built by Watermark Marine. Also can import Technohull RIBs or have a KR7 race / leisure RIB for sale.

Here I am! Email me on cookee@bananasharkracing and follow the link to our website for more information. A deposit has been paid and the boat may be collected before the end of the week, so it will be something else for us next!

There is a lot of race discussion on Boatmad although mostly hard boats it is still worth a look.

BIBOA and the RYA are also places to contact - Good luck!
