I think it will be around 35 knots under Tower Bridge, then opening up a little more half a mile or so down river and to about 80 Knots then I pull over to the side and let them all roar off.

Obviously to get up to the 80 knots we shall be dispensing with any unnecessary weighty items such as life jackets or anchors.

I shall have the Port of London Authority Deputy Harbour Master on board as well as the gorgeous Officer of the Day, so they will be detemining the speed.

thats interesting, have they chartered your boat for the start, I am sure the MCA would be interested in a charter skipper leaving all the safety equipment behind.

I think you have your units of measurement mixed up, try Km/h Ribeyes were never that good as has quite rightly been pointed out to you by Rogue Wave, a top bloke

Ah, Mr. Pete 7.

I thought that might have got you excited. Rules and regulations...you'd better reach for your note book and binoculars unless you left them at the last railway platform you were on.

Has anyone mentioned "chartering"...don't believe I have.

Your excitement over noticing the remark about leaving all the safety equipment behind, might have prevented you realising this was my little joke, maybe not a very good one.

And with respect to Ribeye...of course it can't do 80knots, but she does turn out a most respectable speed.

Mr. Rogue "rock n roll" Wave did indeed make certain negative remarks about the Ribeye a year or more back, but I am delighted to inform you that he was entirely wrong about their quality. After a great deal of use, the boat is in perfect condition, with no failures.

I wish to send my best wishes and the very best of luck to my brave subjects who will be taking part in the marvellous rally and invasion of France this week.

Phillip and I have been following the forum discussions most closely, we are not amused by the parking attendant types doubting the success of this adventure.

The rally starts near the Tower, and if they're not careful that's where they'll end up.

That's the thing I cannot understand about the Brits ( i am one when it suits me) They always talk about being "subjects" . Aa a fervent member of Scargill's new socialist order- I AM A HUMAN BEING not some kind of stuffed
serf. I thought that went out years ago- but no ,there is still "THEM " and "US"
It is seldom THEM that get their hands dirty- why the hell do we need a monarchy anyway? Phillip hasnt even got a rib ....

And if I saw bessy's roller parked badly - she would get a ticket also.

Wot canI say!!

Having just read this thread for the first time, I have to say it is one of the most entertaining and funny threads I have read on any forum in a long time!!

Well done chaps

Now take note cos you wont seen this very often!

Whislt dear old Rouge and I dont see eye to eye all the time (wot you have not noticed!) he has made some very valid points and I am with him 110% on this one!

IMHO and not that of anyone else and no offence intented, this does seem like something set up for a bunch bored of Hooray Henry's to do in between the polo and the cocktail parties!
Being one of blue blood decent I find it all a tad tiresome!

Anyway am off now for some cucumber sarnies and a drop of Bolly!!

Chin chin!

Oh nearly forgot hey JK is it not treason or summit to pretend to be HRH?

Regards

Sorry to say no.
Not been to the colonies for a while and also my pony has gone lame, may have to shoot the bugger!

Is Riva going?
He has been getting into the old polo lark.
