Cowes-Torquay-Cowes race

This race is set for Saturday as far as I know, there has been very little publicity so does anyone know more? Start times- finish times? Start and finish line?

I understand that the boats will leave Cowes at 9:30 and the start line is at the Needdles

It's 180 miles, so around 2.5 - 3 hours

Cool-the Cat race I'm doing safety boat for should all be on the other side of the island by then. I didn't much like the idea of 30+ cats coming through Hurst at the same time in the opposite direction.

I went to watch this , but couldn't get the motor to start ! After 2.5 hours of trying it fired up and ran fine all day. Thoughts seem to be a relay sticking - so got to Yarmouth fuelled up - as we came out saw a few scream past . We were doing 50knts and its like we were stood still ! Awsome . Glad I dont pay the petrol bill for them though !

I saw one of the race boats moored up at the Jolly Sailor on Sunday afternoon... what a beast... and what a noise... even when it was just doing 5 knots going up the Hamble... 85mph or there abouts top speed... wow!!!

Shame it didn't go out into Southampton Water, but popped into the Rising Sun at Warsash. I would of loved to have seen it zoom up Southampton Water.

Did i see you at Torquay on your boat?

Boat ended up as a water taxi cruising the pubs on Sunday
