Anybody else thinking of.......

......going down the 1.3L Race Rib route?

Just very much an idea at this stage but it maybe that there are enough people interested to run a joint 1.3L Hardboat/Rib class.

Peoples thoughts/opinions welcome.

Martin,

Out of interest, what engine/hull combination would be a typical 1.3 litre class rig?

I think a 6metre ish Rib with typically Yamaha/Tohatsu 90hp would probably do it.

Problem is that this class is no longer raced so there are no current regs as I believe it is under review.

Wasn't there one 1.3L boat entered in the cowes classic last year? Its an IOW based boat and I think it did well.

I'd be up for navigating/driving if someone supplied a boat

Tohatsu came out with their One Design concept which was intended to be inexpensive entry level for people entering race.

I could be up to this class pending on rules and allowances of modification.

Would love to see something along these lines get going and would be keen to see one of our boats involved. Would quite like to work with a team and offer assistance etc.

Our 6.5M steeped RIB would be ideal - and also have a non-stepped version that will be very quick too.
