The Trans Atlantic Arctic Expedition

Tomorow Bear Grylls, Mick Crosthwaite, Nigel Thompson, Andy Leivers, Charlie Laing and Carol McFadden will set out from Halifax, Nova Scotia to cross the Atlantic in their 11 metre 450hp open RIB.

Their route will take them to Greenland and Iceland, before arriving in John O'Groats in northern Scotland.

Chloe Boyes, the team's logistics and communications expert, will be posting regular updates here as the voyage progresses.

For more details about the project have a look at the Trans Atlantic Arctic Expedition web site.

Best wishes to all the crew from RIBnet!

From looking at the live tracking on their web site, looks like they may have made an early landfall SW Newfoundland?

Any further news?

Looks like they may have stopped off in Port aux Basques. No news yet though.

<edit - see new thread for details of the route>
