Avon Rover 3-10 RIB with 4HP Mariner TS FNR Outboard For Sale
As per title a nice little Avon Rover 310 RIB (real RIB, seen loads advertised elswhere as RIBs but they are not) according to the serial number it a 1987 boat, it has had a centre console fitted sometime in its life but it has been removed and the screw holes filled properly, now just has two seats one of which is home made and the other is the original Avon plastic one but as it was splitting it now has a nice slab of yacht varnished wood screwed to the top and hold my 14 stone with no problems, no leaks, no patches, no nasty hyperlon paint, original valves working fine, one black rubber cleat starting to lift and needs re glueing (never use them so never bothered) one Avon badge doing the same but not as much, it has removable launch wheels which are great for slip launching single handed with the outboard down ready to go, no oars or foot pump as some nice person nicked them on the last camping fishing trip, good tubes and hold air as it should with only a small top up needed once a year sometimes!
Only used this for myself and the Mrs to fish from off the west coast of Scotland, Irish sea and the Solway Firth, found it very safe in quite big seas and can skip waves and turn on a sixpence at speed (great fun if you are young pitty we are not)
Outboard, not putting too much value on this as it is as we got it from a young lad in Scotland when planning a longer trip and did not think our beloved seagull would have the guts (we were wrong)
Mariner 4hp short/standard shaft 2 stroke F-N-R gears all working fine, old and tatty, one mounting screw replaced by the swindelry for us with a non standard one when we snapped it and lost the end, plastic throttle lock replaced with a bolt of same thread as the plastic lock fell to bits in my hand, runs fine pumps coolant, always flushed out after use in barrel of fresh water but as Ive said not the best looking OB by any means, comes with a Avon metal 12lt external long range fuel tank with hose bleeding bulb and connector, we only use this for fuel storage as it big and heavy, the internal tank will take you a couple of miles out then a run about hunting fish and back again at medium speed (too old and chicken to go full speed lol)
The seagull shorty forty plus (great plod along all day trolling engine for you fishermen) in the pics is not included in the sale but I will include it for an extra £50 as I have two exactly the same and use the other on my little tender for our new (Dare I say it on here lol) 20ft lifting keel sailing boat, oh the shame of it we have gone over to the windy side with a galley cabin, a twin birth sleeping cabin and a toilet (heads) that is old age for you lol
Genuine good Avon 3-10 RIB well cared for not abused in any way but I need to sell fast as we now have no car to get to the yacht and I need to buy a decent motorbike for transport.
After looking around I believe this to be a very reasonable price for this? £2.400 for the ugly flat nosed single seat new ones?
First to view will buy £600 and preferably no offers as at 14 stone then the weight of the Mrs a cheap moped just wont cut it lol.
