Workshop Heater?
What do you guys use to heat your man space?
I'm looking to heat a single garage/workshop and considering one of those wood burners made out of an old gas bottle or a gas heater etc.
How do you heat yours, got any pics

Wood burner's not a bad idea as long as you're not going to play with anything flammable in there-you can't turn it off on the button 
You've already seen my space heater-or you could try a catalytic one?

Women..you've seen the pics 
Seriously -As Nos said get something that wont set fire to stuff...and check the insurance if you get anything powered by gas or with any kind of naked flame.
Mines single skin brick - I have 2 electric fan heaters that keep stuff warm enough- but it gets cold very very fast if they are off...I've also melted a couple of extension leads...

normal 3kw electric fan heater mounted close to the hip.... used only when in workshop...

mobile propane heaters give rise to LOTS of condensation and black mould , electric costs lots to run, woodburners are a bit dodgy with petrol around.
wall mounted balanced flue gas fires overcome all the above disadvantages but are permanently fixed.

If you have 3 phase we just bought a cheap 30Kw heater. It was about £300. The downside is..... We had to have the whole three phase system upgraded to run about 80 amps to run the heater. Upshot was the new wiring cost twice as much as the heater. Still its nice and warm for when you come down to do the hull!!!

Why do you have to have a door open? I use mine in a 6 x 3 tent which works well (I guess that's fairly well ventilated!). Currently using a 6kg bottle which lasts three days running on the lowest setting. Really should get a bigger bottle!

My workshop is freezing.... just fitted a couple of infra-red heaters.
Cheap to run and sealed in a glass fronted case they heat you and things in the workshop, but not the air around you so very little wasted energy. After a couple of days use im pretty pleased with them. We have a lot of dust and flammable stuff so for that they are ideal. Dont laugh but they are designed for heating horses!.....
yep apparently the heat given off is similar to the heat from the sun minus the uv so it makes them feel good too!

Burnin' propane produces buckets of moisture on cold metal surfaces.
3kw leccy heaters running in draughty, insulation free workshops burn the wallet. 
Buy some thermals.

Probably why I felt a bit light headed earlier!! Yer - mine has an adjustment valve on the back. Full on is too hot!

I will be spraying and gel coating so I guess infrared sounds good for local heat?
However a Baxi Brazillia sounds great too, I used to fit them many moons ago.....

I'm still using a big kerosine burner, the hot air is clean, and dry, and the heat is vast, its like a jet engine .. bit too big for your space whisper .. this one is clean enough that I'd consider heating my open plan house with it if my boiler failed, .. it does kick off with a plume of unburnt fuel though which stinks a bit
