They keep harping on about global warming etc as if these temps have never been before. In 1976 there were 14 consecutive days over 32C.

The temp was recorded at Charlwood.. Not surprising considering the car reckoned Gatwick had already reached 24c at 4:00am this morning..

In Scottsdale AZ ( near Phoenix) it is 115F at the airport, day time and 95F early morning. Has been this way for 4 weeks. Water temp in swimming pool is 89 F. Temp. inside the house averages 80F, with AC running flat out, lot's of fans running. Not looking forward to my next elect bill. Walking the dog after sundown so the tarmac does not burn his feet. Wife bought a black car a few months ago, DOH

We haven't made it over 30 according to our two weather stations at work. Saying that though, they're both right by the river, so will always be cooler than a temp recorded inland. I know the car was reading 34 in town as we were driving through yesterday, yet when we got home, it was back down to 28, which both cars agreed on, so I assume it's pretty accurate.

We upload our info from work to the CWOP, along with a few other people in the UK - quite an interesting read if you like looking at localised weather stuff.....

Not sure why, but we haven't given them any info for 20hrs now - will take a look when I get back to work on Monday.

I found today a lot cooler than yesterday - yesterday was almost unbearable.
