West Country Advanced Winter Driving.

A bit of black ice is no problem to a West Country driver.

LOL - why oh why did they jump out!!! - aren't people odd - we've seen some extraordinary driving over the last few days - to fast, breaking too hard followed with an oops and a long slide.

As with a large number of you - really chuffed with both the Defender and Freelander - had to take very bad back roads yesterday due to an accident on the M23 - end up at the top of a very steep hill - low range and diff lock - and the bestie just plodded down - fantastic vehicles

It's part of the Westcountry Highway Code. When the sh*t hits the fan, bail out.

I suppose it was an instinctive reaction. The Fiasco was gathering quite a bit of speed when it went around the corner. Who knows what it was heading for.

Do you think it was staged? I don't video out my upstairs windows often... or had he already seen some interesting "driving" there and was just waiting for a victim.

No, Ice on block paved roads is proving to be treacherous. The two guys walking at the beginning of the clip were struggling to stay upright. I reckon the person with the camera knew it was bad and that the first car to attempt to drive over it was going to get into trouble.

They may well try. I was sat at work one night and there was a big bang on the street. I rushed out to find that the shop next door had collapsed into the street, rubble everywhere. The building was demolished by the Authorities that night but not until they pulled a car out of it. Some bloke had had a fit and drove into the shopfront at 50mph. Insurance claim took years, they tried to claim their client died before the impact, thus voiding the policy (dead can't be insured ?). Sneaky feckers, didn't work though.

If you check out You Tube you'll find the unedited version. Apparently, the couple in the car were warned not to drive on the the cul-de-sac.

there priceless, there was a thing in the news about a woman who had her house rebuilt after a fire on insurance, then they wanted the money back because they found out she had a criminal record from about 20 years ago
