I'd tend to agree with Kerny and HTs replies. If you have no idea who is providing the hardware for the proxies and so on, why would you trust them with every byte of data you send? Bear in mind who's likely to be using this service alongside you...

If it's personal data you're worried about, I think the real risk is what YOU do, not what your ISP does. The usual stuff:

Be careful with your waste postal material - a lot of VERY personal data gets dumped in refuse sacks outside your front door...
Be careful what data you send by email (anyone at your ISP can read them)
Be careful what websites you visit (link clicking discipline!)
Run good Security Software
Don't use shared computers for important browsing
