Washing machines!! Considering an LG
My 3 year old Indesit seems to have given up. I've spent the weekend stripping it and testing it etc but I guess that it's the circuit board or components that are knackered.
I've always had Indesit's in the past and have always lasted really well. But recent reviews for these washing machines are pretty poor.
So I've decided to go for another brand.
Has anyone experience of the LG direct drive washing machines? They seem to be pretty bullet proof with regards reliability, just would be nice to get this confirmed before I part with my hard earned cash.

Buy a bottom of the range Miele. It'll be similar money to most top of the range models, but twice the build quality. Miele appliances have a 5yr warranty, most others have a 5yr lifespan.

I bought a bosch to replace a hotpoint, possibly ten years ago.
Very quiet and still going strong, so far no faults.
The hotpoint on spin was like a rocket launch. The bosch, 2 rooms away you wont hear it.
There was maybe £150 between an indesit`ish model and the bosch, well worth it.
Nick.

I would mind the Miele, but for a 7kg load or bigger your looking at the thick end of £1000

I was also considering a Bosch (I have a Bosch dishwasher which is excellent) too, but the LG models for the load ratings are much better priced.

Well well, who'da thunk it? The RINCEnet Tidie Whitie Club
Can I join?
No experience of LG. Miele renown as the bizz, especially in the professional laundry world, I couldn't justify the cost and bought a Bosch in 1999 which lasted for nine years, gave almost no trouble (other than the Infamous Shoe Washing Incident). The motor eventually weakened due to Mrs willk overloading the thing. The next one was sooo cheap in Currys that we didn't bother with a new motor (almost the same price). It's run quietly and trouble free ever since.
Currys have a 7kg Bosch Exxcel for £430, 50 squid more than the LG but pips it on running costs by a nose.
£50 is one repair visit.

I can't beleive the mark up some of these retailers charge though. We were looking at a £380 basic LG in Currys and found it just over £90 cheaper by Google shopping it, and that was delivered as opposed to Currys that charged £20 for delivery on top of the price.
