Does anyone know how i get a short wakeboarding clip off a DVD we took and onto my computer?

I can play it on the computer, but cant find a way to take the 20 seconds i want and save it.

You need a video capture program. Windows Movie Maker comes bundled with XP I think (well its on my PC and I haven't paid for it!), look in Start>Programs>Accessories. Otherwise I guess there would be a freeware one if you Google for video capture.

ive tried using Camtasia recorder to 'video the video' but when i play it back it just shows as a black screen.
I get the same thing if i try and screenshot the video. Any idea's?

probably something to do with video codecs mate, have a play with windows movie maker (in xp) if you can, grab the selection of frames you want and cut the rest - save as an avi or mpeg, with an intel indeo or suitable codec for others with ms windows on their PC to playback with getting playback problems

had my 1st go last night of the back my boat, messed it up a few times then the binding broke! its only rubber! - ended up water skiing instead - my mate is a bit good and was on a mono ski - had to give it full whack to get him out the water, the prop was ventilating quite a bit (is this normal) but when it gripped, pulled him up very nicely!

no pics Im afraid, we were all to occupied

need a cheap wakeboard of my own! - anyone wanna sell me one?!?!

olly, pick up a bargain at the boat. I got a 380 board/binding package for 130...ex demo.
