My Dad was talking about these-he spotted something similar on the north coast of France and it took him a while to work out that the 'spoiler' on the stern was a retractable hydrofoil.

Apparently they are so fast that they have to sail close-hauled all the time as they make so much apparent wind speed.

Awesome - no wonder those things capsize so much - I think I would prefer a nice deep keel monohull for ocean cruising - not as much fun though!!!
