Visit of Nuclear Powered Submarine

In case anyone else is interested: -

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a nuclear powered submarine, will arrive alongside 38 Berth at 0900hrs on Monday 31st July for an informal visit to Southampton. Anticipated approximate movement timings are as follows:

0630 Embark pilot at Nab Tower Admiralty tug in attendance
0700 Additional tug in attendance
0800 West Bramble
0900 Alongside at 38 berth



Does anyone have the schedule for departure on Friday 4th August?

I would take a guess that the departure information will be released a couple of days in advance. Submarine movements are classified Top Secret so Southampton VTS probably only know the basic information at the moment.

Departure will probably be timed to coincide with Cowes Fireworks - that could cause havoc I fancy

Be interesting to see if you can spot them on the fishfinder when they dive. Prob not with their fancy coatings/tiles.
