Virgin ad in poor taste?

Is it just me - or are Virgin acting out of desperation with this ad?

Their 25th anniversary ad has been running recently on UK tv, and I think it's lame.

I know it's meant to be tongue in cheek, but this whole Gordon Gekko meets Barbie shi* is hardly ground-breaking. British advertising used to lead the world... then they hired a music video director with a big budget and the rest is history!

Someone I know who works in advertising once explained to me: "if you don't understand the advert, you're probably not in the target demographic" ... I have since come to the conclusion I am not in the target demographic for > 95% of stuff!

The reason our adverts are so lame these days is because of the Advertising Standards Authority. they will pull an advert if they get just 1 complaint and they agree with that 1 complaint. The fact 3 million people LOVE the ad doesn't matter!!!

I like it. The air hostesses are babes. And the bloke is playing Asteroids, which is the best video game ever made.

As a point of interest, the blonde at the start of this, is now married to one of the Barclay bros who got binned down on them there islands just off France...and as she unlikely to have a rib so won't see this, now looks like Zelda out of the terrahawks.
