Video Editing Software - What's Best??

Hi,

Not really anything to do with Ribbing but I see a lot of people edit videos on here so I thought it would be worth asking some advise.......

What do you guys use to edit videos - at present I use Windows Movie Maker, which is fine for basics but I want to add a bit more stuff and I feel its a bit limited in some areas. I've been looking at Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11

Obviously I'm not planning on a re-make of Avatar and I'm on a budget of around £100 so any advise and/or previous experience would be greatly received.

Thanks!

I recently started using the Sony Vegas software, and although I am by no means experienced in video editing, I found it very straightforward and competent. There are also lots of good tutorials on Youtube as to how to use its features.

I use power director which can create HD movies, will upscale if your camera did not take it hd format.

I'll warn you though it needs huge memory to work correctly so if your pc is a bit dated it may struggle

i use pinacle studio hd, though again it does need a decent pc to run it properly. most programs are a hundred times better than windows movie maker, so it is worth spending money on one. best advice is to just load some random video clips and spend time just playing with all the features.
