I am however tempted by the drift camera as it comes with the remote function. I know gopro are bringing one out but i suppose it comes down to the good old £££££ signs in the end too.
Go look at some of the GoPro comparisons on the web, there does seem to be better results with the GoPro 2, borne out by the higher pixel count.
However, there are a few advantages over and above mere video quality. Once you are used to it the menu structure and icons on the GoPro 2 are easy to navigate, whereas (I am told!) the GoPro is far less intuitive. Apparently the 2 also has a better lens - cannot comment on that. I guess to some extent it depends on what you are going to view your results on, a small laptoop screen probably does not need too high a resolution.
I use Windows Live Movie Maker on a i3 equipped laptop, and I was able to get a video onto YouTube in one evening, despite never having used Movie Maker or YouTube before

I was going to ask what the wife thought but i know that will come back with a simple women ish reply of "they look the same to me", before she turns back to watching bloody dancing on ice.
I love the quality of the gopro but i have to say the drift is very attractive with the cost being so much lower, plus the remote option included in the price.
Now for convincing the wife its the way forward. Maybe the route of "You can use it horseriding" will be a good one...... knowing full well this would never happen.

I bought the HD Pro 2 Motorsport version and here is a short vid of my first attempt. I'm was really impressed with the "stability" of using the sunction cup mount. But it appears that the anti mist strips are a must. I have ordered a 2nd unit with the extended battery pack. I also ordered the roll bar mount and some other bits.
I was amazed at the sound quality bearing in mind the video was shot using the waterproof housing. I got the float back as well - the unit wont float on it's own
Looks like it, think that I would like to know what mounts are included with this version - do not know myself.
The sellers rating is not brilliant.

I've ordered the msport & added the headstrap as an extra (£17) 7dayshop have 32gig class 10 sd cards for about £18 quid, got a pair of those coming as well. Boys & their toys

Good price for the SD cards - not jealous
If you have problems when you first switch on, as I did, with the camera not recognising the SD card, do a re-format SD card, and all should be well.
Yes I have gone for the LCD screen, I always am a bit of a belt and braces type
To date I have certainly found it useful, even using it as a hand held, although you do need to be very steady to get a decent result.
It does have a neat feature, that allows the screen to be on for 60 seconds whilst you line the shot up, and then the LCD screen switches off to maximise battery life. However, I have yet to run out of juice, either with or without the screen running.
