My soap box on LJ ...The only time I have went in the water was in harbour transferring from tender to boat...now done this twice ...both with lifejackets on! Once it was 27 c outside and the cold shock got me! Glad of lifejacket.

Thanks to the kayaker fraud guy insurance will not pay out without a body - I think now 7 years after death - so your wife, children could get evicted because you never wore that lifejacket.

Lifejackets : Useless unless worn.

Also saves volunteers looking for your body for hours.

Rant over!

Hi hadd, the go pro is an awesome HD camera, but getting the right frame settings and the right software is the key to great shoots. i am still learning but here is a video of our Parker Baltic 1000 rib in Lanzarote.

The video could be blocked in your area due to the sound track, but i will post more GoPro videos on our web site.

Good luck with it.

OK - definitely decided I needed a new cam, not at all happy with the results from my Pentax Optio W90 - takes good stills but crap noisy and grainy video even at a supposed HD setting.
As it is really just for fun I decided I couldn't really justify the going the whole hog for a Hero GoPro HD2 and settled for a Kodak Playsport ZX-5 which seems cracking value at just 89. Waterproof and ruggedised out of the box with similar basic basic specs to the GoPro albeit only waterproof to 3m without any additional casing - but all I really need is for it to be splash proof.
Took it for a quick sea trial yesterday and am pretty happy with the initial results especially for a cam costing only 89! - shot this at 720p (it does do 1080p as well) - not the most interesting video - but you get the idea...

The only thing wrong with the flip camera is when the going gets rough you can't get a steady shot your better with something fixed thats why i normally take my drift hd and a panasonic hand held zoom with me
