Walking to the shops puts out more CO2 than driving in your car. I remember first hearing this years ago - I think it was in a Saab advert.

A few other strange facts to shout at the mentalists if they tell you off for having a 4x4 or a RIB....

— Trees, regarded as shields against global warming because they absorb carbon, were found by German scientists to be major producers of methane, a much more harmful greenhouse gas
